HALLO THERE! So, it's been about, 4 years, give or take, since I did any serious work on my X-Girls. So! In light of a comment that inspired me to work my X-Girls again, here they are!

Starting from Left to right!

First off is Storm! I rebuilt her from the ground up, new face, new skin, relatively new body. As seen Here, I did a couple of tries at her primary costume. For the most part, I'm really happy with her black outfit, as it just screaaaaams Storm. The white costume really shows its age (seriously, shoulderpads!), whilst I'm in love with the club/streetware look.

Onto Rogue! She was a lot more difficult to get up to code then I thot she would be. Her yellow costume, while also showing its age, is still her primary look, at least until I get off my ass and make a brand new costume. Her club/streetware look is still in progress, and needs a LOT of work. For Rogue's face, I added a beauty mark, and made her have heterochromia(miscolored eyes) since it ties pretty well into the skunkstreak.

Lastly, Phoenix! Jeany came out pretty well, all side. Her phoenix outfit is still her most concise look, and I like how i was able to update it. Her club/streetware look was the most fun I've had in a while. It's just plain sexy and fun ^_^

All right then! I HOPE to get a pinup done before I have to pack up my computer, but thats not set in stone! Enjoy, and remember my wip policies!

1) since these are wips and i am posting them STRICTLY for the purpose of critique, i WILL hide any comment that is just 'nice job!' or 'that loooks great!'. no arguments, cus i'm posting these to GET critique, as opposed to my normal art.

2) if you think you can't comment cus you don't know 3D, just treat them as if i drew them, and ignore the fact that their 3D. if something can't be done cus its 3D, well, thats MY problem, not yours.

3) As well, I'm mostly looking for costume/character design critique, as opposed to compositional critique.

4) feel free to be as vicious as you need to be! i'd rather have brutal honesty then kind lies!

oh yeah, PLEASE don't submit this to groups! its a WIP!

AND! All characters depicted are (C) to MARVEL!

PS: I've posted a lot more inprogress shots over at my tumblr! If you want more, go over there!

These are great! I really like your work. However, I will throw in some crits here, since I"m a huge fan of these three characters.

1. Storm: Black costume is great, I don't think I'd change anything there. The white costume though.. Are you trying to recreate the costume from the XAS cartoon? In the comics, that particular costume always seemed more black or grey than white, and never had quite that much yellow detailing to it. It's kind of garish (no offense, just my opinion.) Maybe scale down the pauldrons, and the X symbols a bit. The club look is cool, but I really can't see Storm, with her regal bearing, actually wearing something like this.

2. Rogue: Not much to say about the 1st costume, although I agree with what another poster said about the gloves. If this is a recreation of the costume, the yellow didn't travel all the way down her arm, it stopped on the shoulder and was hidden by her jacket. This just seems to blend them together, and to me it doesn't look quite right. As for the club wear... It seems like you're trying to blend 616 Rogue with her counterpart from X-Men Evolution. We've got a throwback to her 1st costume, and some punkish elements thrown in. For a night out, I'd say that Rogue would want to go with something a little more sexy, especially since she can control her powers now. IMO, I'd drop the glasses, and let her hair down. Maybe keep the top, but cut it off at the midriff, and open it up in the middle to show a bit of cleavage. Then possibly change the pants to either a skirt, or just black pants, without the pinstriping. The whole thing seems like a mismatched full body suit. Oh, and sorry, but I'm not a fan of the beauty mark.

3. Jean Grey: Costume I can't say much about. Someone already posted that there are many ways that it can be portrayed, although for me, I prefer the original version of the green costume, which brought the Phoenix emblem down further, and the black in a bit, so it didn't reach all the way to the shoulders. The club outfit is entertaining, and a throwback to the X-Men Evo suits, but I don't think Jean would be caught dead wearing something like that! LOL.

All in all though, I do like your work. Although, is it just me, or do they all have huge, physically impossible breasts?

You should do Storm's classic '80s costume, oval cut-outs in the thigh-highs, "one-piece" suit with the ring attaching top and bottoms, the red jewel, and you gotta have her iconic head piece.

Great work, though. Like your modern/street look for her. And the hair in cornrows is pretty tight.

For the Phoenix streetware look, perhaps make the skirt less ruffled, and more of a tight mini skirt, the boots only knee high, and the gloves up to her elbows.

Rogue's club look just ain't workin' for me. The skin tight top combined with Yoga pants that are only slightly off color makes it look like she hired someone to make her a new costume and they mismatched the swatches when they dyed the latex. Maybe make the pants grey or black? A Black/Green combo was always her bad girl look, and if she's going clubbing I can't see her being anything but bad.

Think Jean and Storm look great, but like you said, Rogue's primary is also showing it's age. I don't know what's possible for your modelling system but I'm sure you know the street look you gave her here is pretty close to her in-comic design, which is pretty sexy IMO. I'd say just use more of the comic look, that skin tight jacket-top she wears in the comics is great, it almost gives her a miniskirted sort of look. I think if you use that, so the top went further down her body and covered some of her pelvis it might make the pants work better than they do now.

Liking the Storm "club" look. Reminiscent of the "Ultimate" Storm from awhile back.
Rogue's "club" look would make a nice primary, actually

I really do not like Storm with corn rolls. It high lights her skull to a point where she seems bald. The top clashes wither her sleeves and neck bracelet. A jacket would have worked better, or the top alone without the sleeves and the neck bracelet. The pants are fine.

If you had the hair from Storm 3 on Storm 1 that's be a perfect overhaul. Totally agree with you on the white costume, I know some people think it's classic but I never liked Storm in white, think it blends too much with her hair and eyes.

For Rogue, loving the green costume. Great fix on her current comic costume where the artists are trying to show skin. Make no sense why she's risk contact with another person. A dark colored jacket would go great on the green suit.

Loving the Jean dress. Bring in a Marvel Girl feel. What if you reversed the green and black? If you did that and put the Phoenix emblem on the triangle It would blend the Phoenix/Marvel Girl look perfectly.
